A Lemon Way transaction comes with a status, whose conclusion depends on the concerned payment instrument.
The success status is a positive finalization status, leading to the crediting of the transaction amount onto the target payment account.
The pending status indicates that the transaction has not been credited onto the payment account of the beneficiary, but that it can still evolve to a success or failure status (or simply stay in the ‘pending’ status forever). The meaning of the pending status depends on the concerned payment instrument:
• Credit/Debit Card: your client went up to the payment page, but did not finalize the transaction (closed web browser, no 3D Secure code captured, etc.)
• Direct Debit : your direct debit instruction has been taken into account and is being processed/executed.The transaction will be moved to the success status once the direct debit is credited on Lemon Way bank account
• Check : the check has been processed by Lemon Way and is being processed/executed by our partner bank. The transaction will be moved to the success status once the check is credited on Lemon Way bank account
The failure status is a negative finalization status, leading to the non-crediting of the transaction amount onto the payment account of the beneficiary. The reasons for a failure status depend on the concerned payment instrument:
• Credit/Debit Card: possible error codes are detailed in Lemon Way API Documentation, here
• Direct Debit: cancellation of a direct debit instruction by Lemon Way in accordance with your instructions (charged service/under specific conditions)
• Bank Transfer: cancellation of a transfer by Lemon Way (ex: wrong beneficiary IBAN following a verification by the bank) or in accordance with your instructions (charged service/under specific conditions)
WAIT VALIDATION STATUS
The wait validation status relates to card pre-authorizations. It can move to a success status in case the transaction is eventually finalized, or stay in the wait validation status in case the transaction is not finalized during the pre-authorization period.
