What is an inactive account?
An account is considered inactive when the following two cumulative conditions are met:
✅ No transaction has been carried out by the account holder for a period of 12 months, except for the posting of interest and the debit by the financial institution holding the account of fees and commissions or the repayment of equity or debt securities; and
✅ No communication has been made by the account holder, their legal representative, or the person authorized by them, in any form, to the financial institution (e.g., phone call, email, etc.).
After the death of the account holder, the account is considered inactive if, during a period of 12 months following their death, none of their heirs have informed the institution of their intention to assert their rights to the deceased's assets.
Funds and assets recorded in an account considered inactive for:
- 10 years when the account holder is alive
- 3 years when the account holder is deceased
must be transferred by the financial institution to the Caisse des dépôts et de Consignation ("CDC").
Why do I have a wallet with Lemonway?
Lemonway is a payment solution used on thousands of websites/platforms for E-Commerce, marketplaces, kitchens (joint gifts, weddings), crowdfunding/participatory financing, and various personal services.We work in partnership with various companies and if you have opened an account with one of our partners, you will have a Lemonway wallet.
What is Inactivity Fees and why am I being charged?
In accordance with our Terms and Conditions, a monthly inactivity fee of €2.5 is applied to all unclaimed funds remaining on your account after 12 months of inactivity.
💡These fees are applied within the limit of the available funds in your account or a regulatory cap. The regulatory cap is set by the decree of September 21, 2015, which specifies that the total amount of fees and commissions charged annually on each account cannot exceed €30.
The inactivity fees will be applied 1 month after Lemonway has sent you a communication notifying you of the inactivity and giving you the opportunity to recover your funds.
Inactivity fees are not applied retroactively.
How can I retrieve my funds?
Currently, the only way to retrieve funds is to fill in the form that our team has sent you by e-mail.
How can I close my wallet?
If you do not complete the form to retrieve your funds, we will automatically initiate the wallet closure procedure one month after our first communication. No further action is required.

At the moment, the only way to send us documents is to fill in the form sent to you by e-mail.
