Testing your integration before going live

Before going live and processing payments, we highly recommend you test your setup in your sandbox environment. A sandbox is a copy of your production environment, commonly used for testing and development.

Their URLs are formatted like this:

Your sandbox environment remains active even after going live. You will be able to continue testing!

To Test your integration before going live:

👉   Access your sandbox environment

👉   Payment methods you can test

👉   Whitelist an IP address in your test environment

👉   Live penny test

Access your sandbox environment

The Lemonway team will create your sandbox environment as soon as you sign your contract with us. The URL will be shared by your Client Implementation Manager.

Payment methods you can test

You can test incoming funds using the following payment methods:

  • Bank card
  • Direct debit (SDD mandate)
  • iDeal
  • Sofort
  • Cheque (simulated entry)
  • Transfer (simulated entry)
  • PayPal
  • Pay by Bank
  • BNPL

Whitelist an IP address in your test environment

A whitelisted IP address is an IP Address that was granted access to a specific network.

Whitelisting works the same way as in production.

  1. From the Dashboard, click Configuration. A drop-down menu appears.
  2. Click IP address whitelist.
  3. Click Whitelist an IP address +. A pop-up box appears.
  4. Fill in the form.
  5. Click Add +.

Live penny test

Penny testing is to confirm that all the enabling systems and configurations are working as intended by issuing a few small value transactions to test each processing permutation.

Once your live environment is ready, and before processing any payments, you can test your system (especially payment methods that couldn’t be tested in the sandbox environment) by transferring small amounts of money.

💡 We suggest you perform a regular start-to-end workflow. 👉 Get in touch with your client implementation manager if you have any questions.
